Swingin' B

While the category says France, technically this was shot in Spain. San Sebastien is right on the border and was our halfway lunch stop on the way to Bilbao from our villa in Messanges. It turned out to be as far as we went; we figured out it'd be another two hours drive to Bilbao and we were stuffed with pricey tapas and grumpy Bobo. Fortunately we managed to entertain her at a small kiddie park with some swings.

Another Kew Gardens shot, another iPhone 4 shot and again processed on the iPad - I'm loving this setup but sadly cannot get the Pixelpost uploader to work :( this means having to get the image onto a laptop and upload the normal way but I'm sure we'll get there - the author of the app says he's not tested with iPhone 4 or iPad yet so fingers crossed.

I was NOT keen on taking pictures up on this thing, I'm terrified of heights and stupid tourists kept trying to make it sway; I very nearly had a complete Hulk out at one of them - a fat Scottish man who thought it'd be amusing to hold onto both sides of the walkway and shake back and forth. Tit.

Greenhouse

I'm a reasonably large fan of technology - stop laughing you lot.. So when the time came to snap up not only Apple's new iPad but also the latest iPhone 4, I had to resist selling my firstborn. On acquiring said items though I realised the potential for photoblogging with both of them.

100% inspired by Owen Bilcliffe of the fantastic My Glass Eye, this shot of the Temperate House at Kew Gardens was shot on an iPhone, uploaded to Dropbox, synced to my iPad and processed with Filterstorm. This is the finished product without once having touched a 'real computer'.

Poor thing. I realise this looks like a very cruel 'neglecting daddy' kind of shot, and it sort of is, but I couldn't help but pick this out of all the shots of our recent trip to France. I like to think that not all photographs need to be smiley to be effective. Oh and she wasn't that pissed off, probably squeezed her own toe or something...

Archive Alert! I do have some recent stuff but I've been leaving the laptop at work recently and toting around the iPad instead. The downside is not being able to use Photoshop or downloading shots off the Canon. So here's one from Brighton from what seems like a decade ago.

Anyone who's not been to Dunstable Downs and seen this object (read most of you) will be a little confused as to just what the hell this thing is doing in the middle of a field. I've no idea but it provided a very handy windbreaker while I took this shot. Walking Britain provides an alternative view of the 'monolith'.

Go Fly A Kite

Mere moments before the previous shot was taken we were all frolicking outside in the SUBZERO TEMPERATURES. Ok it wasn't that bad but the ice wind was enough to drive us in for coffee. Tania's doing the flying while B is, well, appraising my photographic poseur.

Starry Eyed Surprise

We decided that flinging ourselves into the wind up on the Dunstable Downs would be the best way to spend Easter Sunday this year, so we broke in the kite that Tania had bought for £1.99 and then attempted to warm up in the cafe after getting tangled in the string. B seemed to like all of it though.

We get our fruit and veg delivered weekly in an organic box from Abel & Cole. This week, this monstrosity arrived with our order. I'm not bloody eating it...it'll give me fractals.

Edit: with a massive pork belly and loads of crackling it wasn't too bad :)

A few of us with babies got together just before Christmas for a little celebration at roughly the 6 month old mark for all of them. This is Tania looking especially foxy with little B and her friend Jessica opening their secret santa presents.

Happy 2010 to all!
